GINGER BREAD
DOUGH
Recipe suitable for
ginger bread house
1 stick, (4 ounces) soft butter 3/4 cup brown
sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 egg 4 cups all purpose flour
4 teaspoons baking powder 1 teaspoon ginger 1 teaspoon ground
cinnamon 2/3 cup molasses
In a large electric mixing bowl, cream
butter and sugar. Add vanilla and egg. Continue mixing for a minute. In a
large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, ginger and cinnamon. Gradually
spoon flour mixture into the creamed butter and sugar while mixing at low
speed. Add molasses, and mix well. Chill dough before using.
